Federal Agency Counsel Support

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid/Onsite)
Clearance: Ability to pass federal background investigation; may require public trust

About the Role

A senior-level Attorney is needed to support a federal public safety agency on a wide range of legal matters. This role involves legal research, counseling, and support for litigation and administrative proceedings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on statutes, regulations, policies, and case law in areas such as employment, labor, contracts, FOIA/Privacy Act, ethics, and related matters.
  • Draft legal opinions, memoranda, policies, and other legal documents.
  • Support litigation and administrative proceedings, including discovery, motions, and hearings as allowed.
  • Advise on FOIA/Privacy Act responses, ethics questions, and other agency legal issues.

Required Experience:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing in a U.S. state bar.
  • 5+ years of legal practice, including experience in at least two of the following: federal employment/labor, government contracts, FOIA/Privacy Act, ethics, litigation.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Work Authorization

U.S. citizen or permanent resident able to pass a federal background investigation.

Salary - $215,000 - $230,000

LCAT - Attorney IV

Contingent upon contract award
