Electronic Controls Technician

  • Salary range -70,000 to 90,000
  • Duty hours 0630 - 1500 - Occasional weekend work
  • Location is Fort Leonard Wood Mo

Job Summary:

This position is fulltime on Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri performing facility electronic control operations and maintenance activities at the Chemical Defense Training Facility. Primary duties include oversight of the Building Automation System (BAS) and utility systems, such as power supply distribution panels, generators, boilers, chillers, air compressors, etc. Additional duties involve installation, maintenance, assembly, repair, replacement, adjustments, test, and operation of Intrusion detection systems (IDS) and fire alarm systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expert on all BAS system equipment.
  • Participation and successful completion of projects involving DDC systems commissioning, software integration, calibration or troubleshooting.
  • Operates, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs building utility systems and their related equipment and wiring.
  • Performs electrical control work on chillers, boilers, air handlers, filter exhaust systems electrical motors, Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists maintenance workers in solving work problems.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, good comprehensive and analytical skills, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Operates, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs all facility utility equipment.
  • Installs, repairs, replaces electrical circuitry and/or wiring as needed.
  • Troubleshoots computer and electronic equipment as needed.
  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, meters, computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Required to occasionally lift 40 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned by Project Management

Qualifications/Certifications:

  • 4+ years of work experience with facility maintenance performing maintenance and repair to BAS /DDC system.
  • Journeyman in industrial electricity or a closely related field is highly desirable.
  • HVAC knowledge and work experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with security and fire alarm systems is highly desirable.
  • BACnet Basics (or similar system) Certification
  • Honeywell EBI System Programmer Certification (or similar systems) preferred
  • Comfort Point (or similar system) Open software engineering V1 5.0
  • EBI R500 (or similar system) Operator Certification preferred
  • EBI R500 (or similar system) Administrator Certification preferred
