General Maintenance Worker – Facilities Support Services

Position Summary

LAUKOA is seeking a qualified General Maintenance Worker to support facilities operations at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position performs a variety of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and general repair tasks to ensure Government facilities remain safe, reliable, and operational. The selected candidate will support day-to-day maintenance activities while maintaining compliance with contract requirements, applicable regulations, and established safety procedures

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on Government facilities and equipment.
  • Perform general building repairs involving carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, doors, ceilings, plumbing fixtures, and other building components.
  • Repair or replace facility hardware, lighting components, fixtures, and related equipment.
  • Inspect facilities and identify maintenance deficiencies requiring repair.
  • Respond to service calls and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, labor, and materials.
  • Assist with equipment installations, facility modifications, and other maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas while adhering to all housekeeping standards.
  • Comply with all contract requirements, security procedures, environmental regulations, and safety policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or general maintenance work.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs in commercial, industrial, institutional, or Government facilities.
  • Ability to operate common maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of general building maintenance practices and repair techniques.
  • Ability to perform a variety of maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills sufficient to receive work assignments, enter data, and complete required documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment consistent with the duties of the position.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work from elevated platforms, kneel, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces as required.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Wage Rate

  • Between $50.00 - $75.00 per hour (includes $5.09 of Health & Welfare)
