Grounds Laborer

Department: CON - D7

Salary Range: $21-$27 Per Hour

Summary: The Grounds Laborer is responsible for all grounds maintenance tasks related to the campus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grounds Maintenance

  • Punctuality. Must be able to show up on time and work a minimum of 40 hours per week.

  • Operating small equipment, such as commercial walk behind mowers, string trimmers, back blowers etc.

  • Mowing of all turfgrass areas on campus

  • Seasonal planting of flowers, shrubs, and trees.

  • Apply herbicides to unwanted weeds in mulch beds, sidewalks, and roadways.

  • Prepare mulch beds with edge and mulch to planting beds.

  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.

  • Keep grounds, roads, and curbs clear of trash and debris at all times.

Snow Removal

  • Mandatory Attendance for all mobilized winter weather events. Our ability to deliver detailed snow removal services is of high importance to the mission of our client.
  • Snow Blower, Snow Plow, or Skid Loader experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of Landscaping and/or Grounds Maintenance experience.
  • Must be motivated to work outdoors in changing conditions.
  • Have physical strength, hand-eye coordination and endurance.
  • Must also be able to concentrate on their tasks.
  • The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential.
  • High School Diploma or GED
