Sr. Project Manager - Federal Construction

Summery:

With almost 30 years of demonstrated Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build construction experience, DAWSON is a leader in Federal Construction. We have the proven capabilities, established contract vehicles, vendor and supplier relationships, and in-place processes to deliver cost-effective and timely solutions to our Federal and commercial customers’ construction needs.

Our Senior Project Manager is responsible for developing, planning, directing, coordinating and maintaining budget and schedule for our federal construction projects as well as oversea other Project Managers on staff. Candidates must have knowledge about every stage of the construction process from scope development to project closeout. Typical projects are both design-build and bid build projects typically ranging from $250K - $30M.

The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising construction on multiple projects to ensure an on-time, on-budget project execution with high quality and no safety issues. They will be on site in the Jacksonville, FL /St. Mary’s, GA area.

  • Location: Jacksonville, FL and or St. Mary’s, GA area.
  • Salary $110,000-135,000 based on experience.
  • Secret Clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Effectively manage and build teamwork within project execution teams and senior management.
  • Strong ability to delegate and put trust in team members.
  • Manage overall project team activities.
  • Assist with proposal efforts including proposal technical writing, subcontractor pricing, and estimating.
  • Execution of buyout responsibilities following award of contracts
  • Assist in managing subcontractors through project completion.
  • Thorough understanding of schedule development
  • Ability to produce and update schedules through Microsoft Project and P6
  • Direct project activities to ensure conformance to project budget, plans, specs, and schedule.
  • Accurately forecast project cash flow in relation to project schedule on multiple projects
  • Prepare project reports for management and clients.
  • Experience with Army Corps of Engineers and US Navy required.
  • Management of Design Build and Bid Build projects.
  • Ability to help decipher and solve technical issues relating to construction.
  • Interface with Client

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering or related field from a four-year college or university.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a Construction Management position.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in federal construction.
  • Five (5) years or more of direct supervisory experience.
  • Must provide federal construction project list reflecting the five years of experience and evidence of handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Active or ability to achieve United States Clearance (Secret is Minimum Requirement)
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Acute verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize government project management software (USACE RMS3.0, NAVFAC eCMS, PIEE) to manage government construction contracts.
  • Professional references will be required as part of the hiring process.
